Finance Minister_s Pre-Budget Consultation 2014-15 with Civil Society

Institute for Sustainable Development and Governance (ISDG) invites you to Pre-Budget Consultation with Civil Society 2014-15 jointly organized by Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation (GIFT) and Institute for Sustainable Development and Governance (ISDG) on 23rd December, 2013. The Consultation would be held at Government Rest House, Opposite Thycaud Guest House, Thiruvananthapuram at 3 pm. The Honourable Finance Minister has agreed to host the consultation process. Senior officials from finance ministry, policy makers, planners and economists are expected to participate in the consultation. 

ISDG functions as the secretariat of the Social Accountability and Budget Analysis Network, Kerala, (SABAN) which is a voluntary network of civil society actors, researchers, activists and media persons across the state to ensure transparency and accountability in governance.
This pre-budget consultation is the second in the series of Pre-Budget Consultations with civil society envisaged to be conducted every year before the Annual State Budget of Kerala as assured by Shri K.M. Mani in the National Consultation on Budget Analysis and Accountability, jointly conducted by Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability (CBGA), New Delhi, GIFT and ISDG in Thiruvananthapuram on 20th September, 2012.
We are also happy to inform you that all major suggestions and ideas put forth by the civil society in the last pre-budget consultation process was included in the 2013-14 budget speech by the Hon’ble Finance Minister and it was a great appreciation to all of us who proactively participated in the last consultation process.
We would like to invite you to participate in the consultation process and present your charter of demands. Each group will get 5 minutes to present. We also request you to mail us your demands earlier so that we can compile it and submit to the minister.
